It was two years ago this night that Kai witnessed a most unusual and phenomenal battle, and it wasn’t just him. Miranda had seen it, too. She had been scared but Kai had been there to comfort her. The event may have been two years ago but Kai definitely couldn’t get it out of his mind. It had been a fight of epic proportions and Kai had been so awed by the fight that he hadn’t heard the phone ringing. It turns out Sora had tried to phone him. Currently Kai was at home, watching some TV. His parents and older brother were out but he had been tasked with looking after his younger sister, Miranda. Not that he was able to do much looking after, really.
Kai had asked Sora to come round, she and Miranda could keep him company. She was like, his only best friend ever. Being a seven year old was fun, though he hated doing homework. Kai changed the channel and then heard his stomach grumble in protest. Kai quickly walked to the kitchen, albeit a little wobbly and managed to get himself some juice and a packet of Walkers crisps. He managed to take both items into the living room and then watched a kid’s TV programme that he liked. The apartment they lived in was small but cosy. Kai had to use the furniture around him to be able to walk, or he simply crawled. Not the most dignified way to do it but it got him round the place, at least.

Miranda had been plopped on the floor in the living room. One of her favorite dolls was in one hand, while in the other was a brush. The 5 year old was carefully brushing the hair of her doll, pretending to admonish her like it was a real child, and she was the mother. “Sally, we must brush our hair, it makes us look nice and pwetty’ she was saying trying to get the knots out of Sally the doll’s hair. She couldn’t believe she had allowed it to happen. Kai’s movement caused her to look up, she watched him change the channel, before remembering one of her mother’s stern lecture about being so close to the TV. The child got up from the floor, stretched her legs out and walked towards the couch, carrying her doll with her as she moved to sit beside her brother.
Miranda still remembered that seriously epic fight, she remembered how scared she actually was, all those huge fireballs, and that attack parrotmon performed. Fortunately Kai was there to comfort her. She supposed it was one of the reasons why they were good friends. Miranda looked up, noticing that her brother had gotten up and was making his way to the kitchen, she blinked and soon realized she wasn’t able to walk, so she got up to follow him, just to make sure he was going to be ok. She needn’t worry as he made it into the kitchen and got himself some food. She looked at it before following him back to the living room, noticing how he seemed to use the furniture to walk this time. It was brilliant, an excellent idea. The kid sat herself down beside to watch what he was watching.
She couldn’t help but laugh as a character did something silly on TV.

The battle that had happened two years ago was still on Sora's mind though she pushed it away with the many activities that she liked to do. She had called Kai but he had not picked up her call and she found out later why he had not. After all the two best friends generally told each other everything when they got the chance to do so. She was currently making her way to Kai's apartment. She had been asked to come over and help him look after his sister. She wasn't doing anything so she happily made her way to his place. It wouldn't take her too long to get there though. She had told her mother where she was going and her father well he wasn't around for her to tell at the moment anyways.
She made her way to his door and knocked on it waiting for him or his little sister to answer it. The battle on her mind for some reasons. It was probably because the two couldn't seem to think of anything but that for the last couple of years in the first place. Sora couldn't wait to play with Miranda and Kai. She wouldn't even mind sitting infront of the television watching a show. She waited giving another knock. She could hear the television going on the other side of the door so she continued to wait laughing at what she could hear and trying to hear what she could not.

It wasn’t long afterwards when Kai heard a knock, which made him smile. He knew who it would be: Sora Takenouchi. She knocked again and Kai said he was coming. Sora was one of the few people who didn’t care about Kai being disabled, which was refreshing. There wasn’t a lot of people who did. His Aunt certainly made it clear that she found him “too much to handle”, when in fact Kai was sure she just didn’t want to have to do anything for him. It made Kai sad to think that his own Aunt didn’t seem to love Kai enough to take care of him. He sighed as he went up onto his knees and opened the door for his best friend. He smiled when he saw Sora on the other side. They hadn’t spent much time together recently so now would be the perfect opportunity to hang out.
Kai crawled back to the couch and lifted himself onto it. He smiled once again to Sora. He loved spending time with her. Maybe they could have a sleepover some time. He’d need to talk to Sora and then his parents. The battle two years ago came back to Kai. He didn't even know where the two monsters came from but he remembered hearing a whistle and seeing a kid with brown hair. He didn’t know the kid’s name but he’d been rooting for him and the huge dinosaur. “Hey, Sora, do you remember the battle two years ago?” asked Kai. He wondered if she did remember or if she had forgotten. Also, he wondered if anyone else in the apartment block had seen the battle. That’d be cool. He knew the kid who’d been down there had definitely seen it. he hoped he hadn’t been hurt during the fight.

Miranda looked up, hearing a knock, she was going to get up so that she could open it but Kai beat her too it. She thought it was strange before she remembered her big brother had trouble walking. She watched as he made his way over to the door, her eyes blinking before she finally decided to get up. On doing so she walked over to join her brother by the doorway, a smile formed on her lips as she saw it was Sora. Sora was a nice girl, who sometimes played with her and Kai. She waved with her small hand. “Hiya Sora!” she called out in her high pitched 5 year old voice. She smiled thinking about a game they could play together.
She had blinked when Kai brought up the battle from when she was 3 years old. She frowned remembering that scary time. That incident changed her, made her a lot braver. Also it made her get into more fights with bullies. Miranda moved closer, passed Kai. She went to her tip toes to give Sora a nice gentle hug. She also smiled up at her “are you here to help me watch Kai?” she asked Sora though it was actually the other way around.
Miranda then looked at Kai, trying to look stern “let’s not talk about that scariness okay?’ she asked not really wanting to talk about it though, she will have to if they do.
